AMY STONG, LCSW
Teenage years can be a difficulty and trying time for children and their families. If your teen is struggling to manage difficult emotions or engaging in unhealthy or even self-harmful behaviors, I can help. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have experience helping teens develop the skills needed to cope with strong feelings in healthy ways. I provide a judgment-free zone where your child can safely explore his or her experiences and work toward healthy behaviors and relationships.
My clinical specialties include helping adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, oppositional and defiant behavior, self-injury, or impulsive behaviors. I also have extensive experience working with children and teens involved in the foster care and juvenile probation systems. I use my background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and multiple trauma therapies to guide treatment.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Born and raised in central Pennsylvania, I lived and worked in several different parts of the state before settling in Juniata county six years ago. Since then, my husband and I welcomed our first child, who has quickly grown into a very busy little toddler. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, kayaking, and hiking. I am excited to have the opportunity to practice in the Carlisle area and look forward to meeting with you and your family.
