Ashley Arnold, LCSW, RPT

Children often don’t have the words to communicate their feelings, inner conflicts, or thoughts in traditional “talk therapy” – children learn and express themselves through play. Being trained to work with children at their developmental level, I use a variety of models to meet their individual needs and support families. Through the power of play and expressive therapies, including sand tray, I support my clients with building emotional expression and open communication, trust and mastery, co-regulating emotions, creative thinking, problem solving, and improving self-esteem.

While I have training in a range of therapy approaches, the most important part of therapy is the relationship. I believe in meeting clients where they are, focusing on the present moment, and creating a safe space for my clients to build on their strengths and work toward their therapy goals. I’ll adjust my approach to meet your unique strengths, needs and goals. I look forward to meeting you!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

My husband and I are out-numbered at home, with four cats and a plethora of plants. I also care for neighborhood cats and foster kittens. Animals have always been a very big and important part of my life. I enjoy cooking and baking and love swimming at my local gym. When the opportunity presents itself, I love traveling with my husband or friends to explore new places. When I am not traveling or spending time with friends or family, my favorite activity is curling up on the couch with a cat and a good book!
