WHAT TO EXPECT
Hey! I’m Bri – or Miss Bri to my younger therapy friends! I believe most of the growth in therapy comes from the trust we build in the therapy room and our relationship. I understand personally and professionally that, through hardships in life, we might lose our way or lose hope that positive, healthy, and trusting relationships exist. We might not have a place to feel heard, seen, cared for, and not judged. I hope to provide that for my clients. I am honored when people allow me into their lives to help with such sensitive issues.
I enjoy helping my clients find their strengths and joy in life. We can use that to combat the negative, along with the various evidence-based models, strategies, and techniques I’ve acquired over the years. Communicating openly and expressing emotions can be difficult. I hope to ease the discomfort that can come from having hard conversations and feeling tough things. Sessions with me will often look like me giving you my undivided attention to validate, attune, listen, and truly understand what you are saying and where you are at. I work hard to involve you every step of the way, so that therapy is collaborative and we are working toward and meeting YOUR goals.
I am pretty go with the flow, but I do offer insights to help clients gain awareness and challenge clients to try new things to promote new growth. I am flexible with my approaches for each client, since people do not fit into boxes and situations are rarely black or white. I am all about comfort, safety, and trust in the sessions. If that means sitting and having a conversation that day, done. If it means getting on the floor with our shoes off and playing with sand, done. I do ask straight forward and difficult questions at times, but will ask permission first or let you know ahead of time so you are prepared. If any of this sounds like a good fit for you, I’d love to meet you and help you get started on your growth journey!

On a Personal Note: I grew up in a very rural environment in Perry County and currently live in a rural part of Cumberland County. I once moved to Shippensburg and Chambersburg for change of scenery, but I ended up back in the countryside. I live with my husband, two small children, cats, dog, and chickens. I enjoy gardening, traveling, painting, cooking, hiking, fishing, reading, and spending time with my family outside of work.
